Idiom “喜怒哀乐 xǐ nù āi lè – the gamut of human feeling” comes from the Book of Rites and it is refered to 高兴 gāoxìng – happy, 愤怒 fènnù – angry, 悲哀 bēi’āi – sad and 快乐 kuài lè – happy these four feelings. This is generally refered to a variety of different feelings, people in different environments, encountered different things, the mood is not the same, and emotions are comprehensive, we often use this idiom to describe all feelings.
Example –
Tǐyàn chōngmǎn xǐnù ‘āiyuè de rénshēng cái shì wánzhěng de rénshēng.
体验充满喜怒哀乐的人生才是完整的人生。
A complete life is to experience all the emotions.
